HART223 Italian Renaissance Art 3 cr. Students undertake a detailed examination of the High Renaissance, the supreme moment of artistic achievement in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. Primary sources, and above all the artistic biographies of Giorgio Vasari, will be complemented by modern and contemporary scholastic commentaries. Artists include Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Bramante, Raphael, the Bellini, Giorgione, Titian.
