HART455 Cultural Crossings: China and Japan after 1840 3 cr. This seminar is a critical examination of the visual cultures created in China and Japan after the events of the Opium War and Matthew Perry encounters. The visual cultural crossing between the West and East and between China and Japan is an important part of the developing inter-civilizations in the global age.
Prerequisites: HART100 and any 200 or 300 level HART course
