EDAD307 Furniture Design I 3 cr. This studio is designed as an introduction to the basic principles of furniture design as it relates to history, methods of production and style. Through a series of projects, students design and construct projects focusing on material selection, joinery conventions of similar and different materials and craft in assemblage. Students are encouraged to develop consistent formal elements in their designs, with attention to ease of use, function, assemblage and workmanship.
Prerequisites: EDAD202 Methods and Materials, or 3DSC102 Technology and Culture, or permission of Instructor
