MPSM403 Sound Installation 3cr.

This course will consider the many ways
composers, sounds artists, documentarians, and
visual artists have conceived of artworks using
sound. A focus will be placed on space and how
audio is manipulated in an installation context.
This course introduces fundamental skills and
concepts related to the creation of sound
installation art including strategies for sonic
display, the workings of analog and digital sound
technology, recording and performance. Students
plan and complete their own artworks over the
course of the semester.
