LALW342 Fiction Workshop 3cr This course supports students to write original
fiction prompted by assignments on the
fundamental elements of the craft and the study
of published fiction. Students share and provide
feedback to other students in critique workshops.
Discussions focus on what comprises a good story,
with an emphasis on characterization, narration,
plot, scene, setting, dialogue, and style, and
ways of generating one’s own stories. Comparisons
between written and graphic narratives are also
explored.
