HART397 Architecture and Politics 3 cr. Selected topics in the relationship between political power and built form in the West, from ancient Greece to the present. Students investigate the influence of political agendas on building typology and style, and the use of architecture as political propaganda. Topics include the architecture of imperialism, state-subsidized housing, and the politics of urban planning.
Prerequisites: HART100
